Activity Description:
Start Your Paramotoring Journey!
Step 1: Ground Kiting (12 Hours)
Step 2: First Solo Flight (3 Hours)
Step 3: PPG2 Flight Proficiency (15 Hours)
- Our training program takes you from the basics of ground handling all the way to confidently flying on your own.
- In light winds of 5-10 mph, you’ll begin by learning how to control the wing while staying on the ground. Mastering both reverse and forward inflation techniques, you will develop the foundational skills required to operate your paramotor safely.
- Once you’ve built up basic kiting proficiency, you’ll move on to pre-flight preparation, solo flight, ground school, flight theory, site evaluation, and an overview of FAA regulations.
- Upon completing your training at our site, our instructors will travel to your home area, helping you identify suitable take-off locations and ensuring you’re fully prepared to fly in your local environment.
- Our training meets the USPPA PPG 2 rating standard, equipping you with the knowledge and confidence to fly safely.
Step 1: Ground Kiting (12 Hours)
- The first stage of your instruction focuses on learning to kite your paraglider wing from the ground. In steady winds, you’ll practice controlling the wing, learning how to adjust your movements and inputs to keep it stable overhead.
- You will also be taught how to properly unpack and layout your glider, understand its anatomy, and perform reverse and forward inflations. This stage will prepare you for the USPPA PPG1 written and proficiency exams.
Step 2: First Solo Flight (3 Hours)
- Once you’ve mastered kiting, you’ll progress to pre-flight preparations and your first solo flight. You’ll assemble your motor, conduct the initial engine run-in, and perform a balance test using the paramotor. You’ll also practice controlling the throttle while kiting with the additional weight of the paramotor, preparing for a smooth takeoff (taxiing).
Step 3: PPG2 Flight Proficiency (15 Hours)
- After your first solo flight, your training continues with skill-building flights. Typically, it takes around 25 flights to develop confidence in both your abilities and equipment. During this phase, you’ll also cover essential ground school topics such as weather patterns, aerodynamics, oscillation control, Federal Aviation Regulations (Part 103), and more.
- This step prepares you to take the USPPA PPG2 written and proficiency tests.
- By following our structured approach, you’ll gain the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to safely pilot your paramotor.
- This version ensures that the content is unique and presented in a more structured format, focusing on clarity and progression through the learning stages.

Things to Know Before You Begin:
This section ensures prospective students have a clear understanding of what to expect, helping them feel more prepared and comfortable as they embark on the training journey.
Cancellation Policy
- No Prior Experience Required: Our program is designed for beginners, so no previous flying experience is necessary. We’ll guide you through every step of the process, from ground handling to your first solo flight.
- Physical Fitness: Paramotoring does require a reasonable level of physical fitness. You’ll be learning to control a glider on the ground and will eventually carry an additional 70 lbs of paramotor equipment. Being in good shape will help you progress more comfortably.
- Weather Dependent: Training sessions are highly dependent on weather conditions. Winds between 5-10 mph are ideal for ground kiting practice. We will adapt to changing weather to ensure safety, but flexibility in scheduling may be needed.
- Equipment Provided: All necessary equipment, including the paramotor, glider, and safety gear, will be provided during your training. You’ll get hands-on experience with the same gear you will eventually use for solo flying.
- Safety is a Priority: Our instructors are USPPA-certified, ensuring the highest standards of safety and training. We follow all FAA regulations (Part 103) and use structured, proven methods to build your skills safely.
- Time Commitment: The course requires about 30 hours of hands-on training, divided between ground school, kiting, and flying. Students typically need about 25 flights to feel comfortable, but this may vary depending on individual progress.
- FAA Regulations and Local Laws: As part of your training, you’ll learn about Federal Aviation Regulations (Part 103) and any local laws or codes related to paramotoring. This ensures you fly legally and safely, both during and after the course.
- Post-Training Support: After completing your training, our instructors offer post-course support by visiting your home area to help you identify safe launch sites and refine your flying skills in your local environment.
This section ensures prospective students have a clear understanding of what to expect, helping them feel more prepared and comfortable as they embark on the training journey.
